Mediation and Alternative Dispute Resolution

LEAVE A LEGACY, NOT A LIABILITY

Unfortunately, the number of disputes about Wills and inheritance is growing rapidly. The death of a partner, relative or friend is always upsetting and can be stressful. If a Will is challenged or someone disputes how the estate will be shared out, it can ratchet up the stress and emotional burden and eat into the legacy that has been left.

MEDIATION is a process where an impartial third party (the "mediator") helps two or more people (or groups of people) resolve a dispute.

The UK courts strongly promote mediation to resolve disputes out-of-court because it has many advantages over litigation. The Ministry of Justice suggests those in dispute should consider mediation and "litigation should be a last resort".

We offer timely, straightforward and sympathetic guidance to resolve such issues in the most appropriate way. Where suitable, our mediation experts can help devise an out-of-court settlement to minimise the cost, stress and delay of litigation.

If mediation isn't the right solution, our trusted partner specialises in Contentious Probate and have substantial experience handling such matters.

At a time of loss, financial matters can be very sensitive and spiralling costs can add further worry. We recognise this by working on a fixed fee cost basis - one less thing to worry about.
